Purpose of Job We are currently seeking a talented Director, Debit Card Product Management for one of the following locations: San Antonio Home Office II/III, Phoenix Campus, Colorado Springs Campus, Tampa Campus or Remote.

The Director, Debit Card Product Management will lead USAA’s debit card product management team with accountability for growing debit card interchange income, enhancing the member experience, and proactively managing product risk. Director will have P&L accountability for the debit card portfolio and leverage strong critical thinking skills, human centered design, and a fact-based mindset to build a robust lifecycle strategy focused on growing penetration, activation and usage among this industry leading portfolio. Consistent with the debit card strategy, the Director will set business goals and proactively measure and manage performance to achieve debit card commitments.

Manages a team of individual contributors responsible for the maintenance of existing products and/or the development and launch of new products. Works collaboratively across Marketing, Finance, Legal, Information Technology, Operations and the Distribution Sales and Services groups to develop industry-leading products. Communicates the product value proposition to Distribution organization.

Ensures product team delivers sales support to all distribution channels (e.g., .com, mobile, contact center) so that the product is properly positioned to customers (sales tool and collateral development, sales training, etc.).

Generates innovation and solutions for customer needs to ensure a dynamic product development pipeline exists.

Develops and launches new product offerings as well as auxiliary/enhanced features/services for existing products.

Analyzes and evaluates product performance metrics to form recommendations regarding market opportunities and product enhancements.

Leverages resources to gather data and member information to support formulation of product strategy and acquire competitive intelligence.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Statistics, or related discipline, OR 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

8 or more years relevant industry experience in Financial Services, Banking, Actuary, Underwriting, Marketing, or Operations, or 4 or more years direct product management experience.

3 or more years of direct team lead or management experience.

Preferred Requirements

MBA degree preferred

5+ years of experience in debit card or credit card product management

Strong financial acumen and experience managing and optimizing a P&L

Strong analytical experience leveraging BI tools (e.g., SAS, Tableau), benchmarking data, and client insights to drive strategy development

Design-thinking experience developing products, services, and value propositions

Experience building new teams and developing talent

Deep knowledge of the cards and payments space including card transaction processing

Regulatory knowledge within the debit card space and demonstrated first line of defense experience managing risk and controls

Strong collaboration and influencing skills with demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships with distribution and marketing teams
