Job Description Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant
Introduction: We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to
join our team. As a CMA, you will play a vital role in providing
support to healthcare professionals, ensuring the smooth operation
of medical facilities, and delivering high-quality patient care. We
are looking for a dedicated individual with strong interpersonal
skills, attention to detail, and a passion for helping others.
Responsibilities: 1. Patient Care: - Assist healthcare providers in
performing various medical procedures and examinations. - Obtain
and record patient vital signs, height, weight, and medical history
accurately. - Prepare patients for examinations and procedures,
ensuring their comfort and well-being. - Administer medications and
treatments as directed by healthcare providers. - Educate patients
about their medical conditions, treatments, and preventive
measures. 2. Administrative Duties: - Greet patients, schedule
appointments, and manage patient flow within the medical facility.
- Maintain electronic health records (EHR) accurately and
confidentially. - Handle patient inquiries, phone calls, and
correspondence professionally and efficiently. - Coordinate
referrals to specialists and other healthcare facilities as needed.
- Manage medical supplies and equipment inventory, ensuring
availability and proper functioning. 3. Clinical Support: - Assist
with minor surgical procedures and wound care. - Perform routine
laboratory tests and collect specimens for analysis. - Prepare and
sterilize medical instruments and equipment. - Perform
electrocardiograms (EKGs) and other diagnostic tests as required. -
Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe
environment. 4. Team Collaboration: - Collaborate with physicians,
nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive
patient care. - Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure
continuity of care and adherence to treatment plans. - Participate
in staff meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement
initiatives. Requirements: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
credential from an accredited institution. High school diploma or
equivalent; completion of a medical assisting program preferred.
Current CPR certification. Proficiency in medical terminology,
basic pharmacology, and clinical procedures. Strong organizational
skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced
environment while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and patient needs.
