Job Overview: The Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse provides direct and individualized nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role involves assessing patient needs, planning and implementing care, and documenting patient responses to interventions. The OR RN collaborates closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other healthcare team members to ensure patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments and equipment. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate perioperative nursing care for patients. Monitor patient’s vital signs and condition throughout the surgical process. Assist the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and anticipating needs. Maintain sterile techniques and ensure compliance with infection control policies. Document all aspects of patient care accurately and promptly. Provide post-operative care and education as needed. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care. Respond to emergencies effectively and support the surgical team as required.
