Project Director to join our Mining & Metals team in the United
States. Your Role Within the Team
- Leadership: Lead the project team in overall management
activities, including quality assurance, engineering, procurement,
planning and controls, construction management, industrial labor
relations, and safety, to achieve a quality project within the
established budget and schedule.
- Organization and Planning: Prepare an organization chart,
assign personnel, initiate the project master schedule and capital
cost estimate, direct the preparation of the Project Instructions
Manual, establish manpower planning and services budget, review job
descriptions for direct subordinates, and sign the Site Industrial
Agreement with prior consent.
- Controls: Ensure contractual obligations are met, define,
communicate, and meet project objectives of quality, cost, and
time, respect Site Industrial Agreement and safety regulations,
maintain relations with public authorities and professional
associations, and manage work progress by delegating
responsibilities.
- Quality: Prepare quality assurance procedures and program,
establish and follow quality control standards, criteria, and
procedures.
- Operations: Maintain communications and relations with Client
teams, ensure qualified personnel for project duties, participate
in technical problem analyses and bid evaluations, visit
construction sites and fabricating shops regularly, prepare and
review Industrial Relations and Safety program, and achieve
budgeted profit while meeting Client objectives.
- Motivation: Maintain ethical and professional practices in
bidder selection and bid evaluation. Train and assist direct
subordinates in personal development. Evaluate performance of
direct subordinates. Enhance working relationships through team
building and information sessions.
- Method of Reporting: Prepare a monthly progress report in
accordance with the Project Instructions Manual. Present, with the
team, a factual report on the operations and performance of the
project team at quarterly project panel reviews.
- Working Relationships: Report to the Client Project Manager for
project objectives and approvals. Maintain relationships with
services and operational groups of AtkinsR--alis. Manage Quality
Manager, Engineering Manager, Project Controls Manager, Procurement
Manager, Construction Manager, and Area Managers.Why Choose

- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering desired.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or eligible
for registration desired.
- Minimum 15-20 years of experience preferably in the mining
industry.
- Previous EPC/EPCM experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of cost, planning and control methods.
- Proficiency in a variety of standard project management methods
and techniques.
- Self-motivated, goal oriented with strong client focus and
