the area of assignment/field including two (2) years managerial

been achieved. Job Profile Summary: Develops and manages unit and
project budgets, as well as strategically oversees project scopes
for architecture and engineering initiatives. Works closely with
internal stakeholders to make staffing decisions and actively
contributes to the planning and execution of construction and
planning projects. Job Description: The Office of the University
Architect (OUA) and Capital Programs Management Group (CPMG), part
of Facilities Development and Management (FDM), is seeking an
Associate Director to lead a team consisting of an Assistant
Manager, Design Managers (DMs), Project Managers (PMs), and Subject
Matter Experts (SMEs), for design and construction projects, across
all ASU campuses and innovation zones. Reporting to the Assistant
Vice President for CPMG, the Associate Director plays a key role in
executing project delivery by implementing and managing efficient
and effective processes across the department. Essential Duties
Provide strategic leadership to a team consisting of an Assistant
Director, PMs and DMs, overseeing workload distribution and project
assignments. Coordinate with the project initiation team (Launch
Team) on all new project requests, to include assigning team
members to projects, reviewing project charters and estimates for
accuracy, and ensuring a proper project transition to the
implementation team. Support team members by ensuring they have the
necessary resources, guidance, and oversight to complete projects
on schedule and within budget. Coordinate with university
stakeholders, administration, architects, engineers, contractors,
and vendors during project execution. Assist PMs and DMs in
developing Requests for Qualifications (RFQs) and Requests for
Proposals (RFPs) to solicit professional services. Evaluate and
recommend appropriate construction delivery methods, ensuring
optimal efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Oversee the planning and
scheduling of capital construction projects to ensure alignment
with university objectives. Ensure project expenditures remain
within budget allocations while tracking and controlling
construction costs. Participate in the development and management
of construction contracts and professional service agreements,
ensuring compliance with university and regulatory requirements.
Provide oversight to ensure all engineering and architectural
drawings and specifications are accurate and complete. Direct and
monitor compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and
university policies throughout project execution. Attend and
participate in construction meetings, providing direction on
contract implementation and risk mitigation strategies. Meet
monthly with university customers to provide project updates and
address concerns. Prepare and present reports on project progress,
budget status, and key program activities to university leadership
and stakeholders. Develop and prepare Key Performance Indicators
(KPIs) that measure the effectiveness of Project Managers and
Design Managers, while also ensuring the equitable workload for all
team members. Represent FDM/OUA/CPMG in planning activities with
external agencies and participate in committees related to
sustainability, vendor selection, hiring, and staff recognition.
Drive process improvements in project delivery by identifying best
practices and streamlining workflows. Ensure accountability for
preconstruction obligations, particularly cost estimating and
early-phase project budgeting, to prevent cost overruns. Support
ASU’s commitment to sustainability and innovation by integrating
best practices into project planning and execution. Supervise
activities of subordinates. Coach and mentor assigned team members
and provide performance-enhancing feedback. Provide or coordinate
training to team members as required or needed. DAYS and SCHEDULE:
Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm Salary rate $110,000 - $120,000

construction industry. Sustainable Construction Practices:
Implementation of sustainability and green building strategies
within the construction sector. Construction Documents &
Compliance: Interpretation of construction documents and a general
understanding of applicable construction codes and land use
ordinances. Project Management Software: Proficiency in PMWeb,
Bluebeam, MS Project, and other project management tools. Evidence
of: Master's Degree preferred in Architecture, Engineering, Project
Management, Facilities Management, Business Administration or a
related field 5 years of Facilities Management or Construction
Project Management experience in a college, university,
institutional or similar setting and/or working on higher education
or similar campus projects and building types Certified
Construction Manager (CCM) LEED Green Associate or LEED AP or WELL
Project Management Professional (PMP) CSI Certification ASPE
Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) Lean Design and
Construction/Process Improvement OSHA 10/30 Communication skills
Working Environment Activities can be performed in a regular,
climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of
sitting, standing, and walking at job sites. Required to stand for
varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform
work. Participate in field work which requires accessing paved,
rocky or uneven areas and exposure to dirt, dust, extreme
temperatures and inclement weather. Daily use of desktop computer.
Bending, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 20 pounds. Regular
review of completed tasks. Drive University vehicle/carts.
