ABOUT THE ROLE
Join a team that designs, develops, and integrates highly complex
systems within Honeywell Aerospace. The Advanced Systems Engineer
will be integral in creating system solutions that meet the
evolving needs of our customers. You will have ownership for
systems at every aspect of the systems lifecycle, from the front
end of business development through product end of life. You will
work across disciplines within the Electronic Solutions Engineering
Flight Systems business to drive growth and reach critical business
milestones.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop Primary/Auto flight functions pertaining to
autopilot engage logic, flight crew annunciation, flight director
engaged logic, flight-envelope protection, and global data
preprocessing
- Designing high-integrity (Design Assurance Level A) flight
control functions
- Perform necessary hazard analysis to ensure critical
Primary/Auto flight functions do not contain single points of
failure which would result in a catastrophic event
- Creation of certification documents for Primary/Auto flight
functions starting with high-level Requirement Analysis Documents
down through System Requirement Specifications, Software Design
Documents, and System Test Procedures
- Implementation of Primary/Auto flight functions using MATLAB
and Simulink including incorporation into software builds for
testing and final delivery

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS Due to compliance with U.S. export control
laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is
defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have
protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have
the ability to obtain an export authorizationMUST HAVE
- 4+ years' experience in all aspects of the systems engineering
process, from requirements analysis through verification
testing
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical
discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or
mathematics
WE VALUE
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer
Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial and Systems Engineering,
Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
- Advanced knowledge of the systems development
lifecycle
- Experience in MATLAB and Simulink
- Experience with data analytics with strong math skills
- Experience in all aspects of the systems engineering process,
from requirements analysis through verification testing
- Familiarity with DO-178, DO-254
- Individuals who quickly analyze, incorporate, and apply new
information and concepts
- Adept with a diverse and global team
- Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with
minimum supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get
things done
- Ability to adapt to project change
- Multi-tasker and ability to manage a variety of complicated
tasks and people
- Strong communication skills and ability to create and sustain
an environment that promotes good communications and candid
feedback
